My Trip to Middle East => Dubai ( Part 2)

11:42:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Welcome to my Hotel=> Madinat Jumeriah

Everyone else => * Jaws dropped, perplexed look*

Okay, okay. It was not exactly my hotel, I was just staying there. You people ar, cant just ignore small details...

Be welcomed by horses at the entrance

********

Around The Hotel

Free boat ride around the hotel

The hotel is SO huge, that it actually has free boat rides & buggy rides to facilitate your "transportation" to different parts of the hotel.

Ok, let's go in the hotel now...

At the Lobby

Well, the staff are waiting oreadi, hurry up, wont you? Keke

Moving into my hotel room down the many many walkways

Btw, the hotel is built with the concept of a castle, which explains the many wings and doors leading to more doors. Confusing when we first reached. But I guessed I have the in-born princess traits in me, so I kinda got used to it pretty fast.... HAHAHAHAHHAHA

The bedroom and its comfy beds

The beds are super comfy, with lots of pillow. I feel sleepy oreadi just by looking at the picture alone!

Elephant

Squid

Ram or Rabbit

The staff are so "bo liao" that they will use towels to make different kind of animals when they make up your room. Kinda cute huh?

Big Toilet

Includes 2 basin, bath tub, standing shower and of coz, towel bowl

********

We can now move on to other parts of the hotel...

Souk

Souk is actually the name of Dubai's local shopping area or market place. Yes, that's right! The hotel has a Souk within its compound.... WooooOOOoo

Indoor Gym

With Indoor Swimming Pool

Outdoor Swimming Pool

This is the biggest swimming pool in the Middle East. It may seems small in the picture, but it is really biggest. Say who? Say the guide lor...

Beautiful Beach

Yes, again.. this is part of the hotel...

Gigantic Chessboard

The icon of Dubai is of coz the 7 star hotel, The Burj aka The Sail. Well unfortunately, I have no "status" and $ to go in and take a look. Let's just made do with pictures of the Burj from the outside. Seriously I prefer to admire it from far...... =p

Curry Favor [Closed]

1:09:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Check out this Japanese restaurant at your familiar neighborhood. Well, at least for me, coz it is so near my place. YEAH!! Another dinner place for me if mum decides not to cook... =p

It was quite easy to locate, 3rd floor beside the escalator. Kinda empty when I was there on a Saturday night. But again, we should not judge a book by its cover, we therefore should not judge a restaurant by its crowd. So, I decided to try it anyway ( & also because I was too hungry to go somewhere else... keke).

Spacious setting

Our orders:

- Rosu Katsu ( Pork Loin & Fish Fry Combo) ~ $15.90
- Age Cheese Chikuwa ~ $6.90 ( 6pcs)

You are not seeing things! I'm trying to slim down, dun you dare to hinder me! I shall share food with bf as far as possible. It's not stingy nor cheapskate. It's called "economic of scale"! We shall utilize as little food resources to fulfill the hunger of 2 adults as possible! * Applauses *

Salad & Brown Tea

Cant really remember, but I think it's $1.50 to upgrade your meal with a salad/miso soup & drink. Believe it or not, the salad tasted like tuna fish! Hoho, that was what I told my bf. I think it was the sauce that kinda tricked my palate & sent a confused message to my brain cell. Obviously the salad was not tuna fish. In simple terms, it just tasted quite different.

Our combo meal - Fish & Pork, well balanced meal!

The curry sauce - a choice between regular & spicy

Yummy Curry Rice!

I thought the pork loin was fabulous! Crispy on the outside, & tender juicy inside. Even though it was fried, you can still taste the tenderness of the meat. Well done!! I had chosen regular for the curry sauce, which complement nicely with the chicken. This has to be the case coz chicken should be the main highlight, unlike Indian cuisine whereby curry plays the main lead. The rice was also cooked with the perfect stickiness.. everything just went so smoothly with each other!!

The fish was just olright. I prefer steam fish personally, that's when you differentiate between a fresh & stale fish. Then again, forget about my comments, go ahead and try the fish if you like fish. For me, pork is definitely my first choice in my next visit!

Side dish - Age Cheese Chikuwa

This side dish was itemed as popular, which was why we ordered. Cant really make out what was it, except that the yellow thingy was supposed to be the cheese. So you guess it, I dun really find it fascinating and ya, not recommended by me.

On a side note, people tend to order dishes that are marked with " Chef Recommendation", " Popular" etc. So if I start a restaurant, maybe I should just mark everything or at least those that I wan to sell more ( perhaps a higher margin dish), and everyone would just "blindly" order.... Haha... Scheming huh?

Overall, I quite like this restaurant but again depend on whether you like curry and fried stuff. I went back for a 2nd visit in the same month and ordered their stew, which was kinda normal. The standard fried pork curry is still my favorite!

Just to entice you further, here are some of their on-going promotion:

1) Monday is Curry Day! Buy a curry main and enjoy 50% off the 2nd curry equal or lower value (available for curry mains above $10)

2) Seafood Tuesday! Seafood curry main courses at 25% off ( not valid for half-size curries)

Other interesting information:

1) Curry buffet on Sat, Sun and PH, 12pm - 9.30pm
Adult at $22.80
Child at $9.80 ( below 10 years old)

2) Home/office delivery available from only $8/set. More information at www.curry-favour.com

Btw, they do serve half size curries. Great if you just want a small bite and save $$$

My trip to Middle East => Dubai ( Part 1 ~ TBC)

12:39:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

You will never guess it! I actually went Dubai! Ya man, dunno about you, but it is definitely not in my " country-that-I-wanna-go" listing. Fortunately, I "survived" the trip except for some disgusting vomiting at the desert tour, so here I am posting pictures... Enjoy!!! ( P.S Bec I think most ppl wont go in their entire lifetime also.... =p )

*********

Desert Tour

We went for a desert tour which included riding up & down on sand dunes ( the most disgusting part!), camel riding ( if you dun mind smelly), sand boarding etc

The car ride was TERRIBLE! The car can sit 7 passengers + 1 driver. Being the lightest of the group, I was seated at the back.

BIG BIG MISTAKE!!

That was the worst place if you tend to get motion sickness easily. At first, I was still alright but after some time ( which felt like eternity) of up and down in the car, I started to break out in cold sweat. As I was with some VIPs, I tried to hold back. But cannot lah, so I vomited at the 2nd pitstop where there was some sand boarding activities going on. So I missed it lor! How to play when I was already feeling nausea and vomiting?? So wasted! Coz I polly wont go back there again...

After the 2nd pitstop, we were supposed to go back to the camp site for dinner. The front seat was given up to me. But somehow or rather, it did not help liao. So guess wat?

I VOMIT AGAIN

-_______-"

So embarrassing!! I was the ONLY ONE vomiting... Such a sickling... Haiz... This time round, I actually phewed in the car. The driver could only give me a weak smile while I kept apologizing.. Heng, I never ate a lot that day, or else.... I cant imagine...

ANYWAY, these are the pictures at the desert....

1st pitstop => Smelly camels

2nd pitstop => Sandboarding site + Sunset view

Sand Boarding, anyone?

**********

Palm Jumeirah

Expensive houses at Palm Jumeirah

Depending on the location of the houses, some of them actually have their own private swimming pool & beach! Insane!! How can anyone be so damn rich!!! Apparently, there are a lot of rich people in the world. We were told that houses were sold off within 24hours. Erm, anyone of ya needs a goddaughter??

Altantic at Palm Jumeirah

BIG fish tank within Altantic

Wanna date? =p

Ya man! Dubai's local tibit is dates. Normal dried dates, chocolate coated dates, dates with nuts etc. I dun really like the normal dried dates, but the chocolate ones are okay. Ah Ha! Coz they tasted just like normal chocolates mah!! Got you!

Well, those dates in the picture above were too expensive, so the ones that I bought were mainly from Carrefour and airport. Still, it cost approximately AED30+ per box, which worked out to be roughly S$1o+

*******

Flight details in Arabian! Keke... Do not worry, there was english version as well lah..

Anyway, I am too tired now.. it's 1.30am!! I need my beauty sleep!! Shall continue to blog about Burj, the 7 star hotel and the hotel I stayed in Dubai in my next entry... so stay tuned!!
