Marley & Me - Afternote

A heart-warming yet aching story...

I did not read the book, so was just anticipating funny scenes of the naughty doggie. At least that was what projected in the trailer...

The whole story evolved around the doggie, Marley and ended with it. The ending was really sad. I guess I would never keep a dog as I will not know how to handle if the dog has to go to heaven.. Sob ~_~

Put aside that Marley was really uncontrollable, he was so much direct with his affection to his owner. It proved the point that even though Marley created hell of problems, unforgiving thoughts to abandon him arose, yet in the end the owners still love him. He was after all, part of the family already.

Direct affection with no reservation, that's sth human cant display.

Haha, I had somehow "revealed" the storyline, but you just have to watch it... Marley was really cute even though he was a BIG dog.... =p

First of all....

VERY SORRY FOR THE VERY DELAYED BLOG!!

But late better than never, rite? Keke...

I'm blogging now, with a blocked & watery nose. That proves my sincerity.... a bit?? =p

********

Anyway, I'm into Korean food recently! ^__^

Loves their BBQ saba fish, the stone rice, rice cakes etc!! Haha, but one thing I really cannot tahan => Kimchi!!

Ya I know, Kimchi is sort of Korea national food, you can practically find it in all meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner, you name it. Too bad, it's not my liking, why would anyone adore spicy, sour, preserved vege?? * Blurred & Confused *

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant [Closed]

12:08:00 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Update: There is another resturant by the name of Hibiki at Singapore Flyer. Not too sure whether it's the same. Let me check it out before I update here again! =)

******

This is a Japanese restaurant that we chanced upon while searching for a dinner venue along Cuppage Terrace. In fact, there is a lot of interesting food places there. Beside 3 Japanese restaurants, there are also Mexican food, Indian food, Western food etc.... I must check back here again! ^_^

Walking into the little restaurant, we were welcomed by a modern concept. They even had this "couple seat" whereby you can join 2 chairs together which come with only 1 side of the handles.

I guess it was still early for dinner, that was why the place was relatively empty. Well, all the better for us, it meant that our food orders would be able to arrive faster! Ha..

Not really hungry, I shared a set with bf which included the following:

Set Ni - $34

Classic Hibiki Salad
Chawanmushi Twin
Amiyaki Beef
Kinoko Tsukemen
Chef's Specialty Desserts

Whilst waiting for the food orders to come, I just snapped some pictures of the cutlery. It was pretty rite, would love to "kapo" back if we were not one of the few groups of customers.... * Evil smile*

NAHHHHHH, I am just kidding. You wont believe that I would do such things also rite?? HAHAHHAHAAHa...

Anyway after ancient times, the food finally arrived!

Classic Hibiki Salad

This was rather refreshing, and I especially like the potato strips on top of the salad. The seasoning was really light too, so no worries about the extra pounds from the usual salad dressings...

Chawanmushi Twin

The egg was as smooth as a baby's buttock!! Keke, mind my language, but I wondered how Japanese restaurants were able to make the steamed egg without any air bubbles etc.

Taste wise, the chawanmushi was quite plain with just roe on the left cup & seaweed on the right. I like mine with more ingredients like chicken meat, shitake mushrooms etc... Erm, missing??

Amiyaki Beef

As usual, beef was my FAVOURITE dish!!! Tender and juicy, Yummy! But the serving was too small, so I neow ( stingy) lah, dun wan to share with my other friends... HAHAHA =p

Kinoko Tsukemen

This was like eating cold soba noodles, just that the soup was served hot. You were supposed to dip the noodles in the soup before putting in your mouth. Soup was plain, tasted like water thickened with starch/corn flour. Needless to say, the soba was therefore plain as well. Not very exciting wor.... But it helped to fill the stomach since we dint order any rice.

Chef's Specialty Desserts

The cake was a tofu-cheesecake, cant really remember the taste... Oops. Did I just revealed that this review was meant some time ago?? Keke, busy eating mah... erm, I mean I was busy so some delays in my posting.

Ok, that's beside the point. My friends also ordered other food, I cant really comment since I dint eat them. But I guess the pictures should be able to tell some stories on their own??

Gindara Saikyo - $16

Tamago Onsen - $8
( Japanese poached egg)

Kurobuta Shabu Shabu - $28

Hibiki Juelly Sushi - $18

Our group of 6 also ordered beef Sukiyaki ( $18), Rainbow Maki ($15), Tofu Salad ($8) and Foie Gras with Kamo ($8), and the total bill came up to be around $180 after all taxes. Slightly on the higher end lah..

My tip of the day, it's always better to come in a big group of friends, whereby you can just order a few dishes and shared among yourself. In this manner, you get to try more dishes without burning a hole in your pocket!

Hibiki is okay, but it's not some restaurants that I would die die make a return visit. Somemore, the pricing is quite high. But again if you are in the area, and like to try a new Jap venue, this could be one of them?
