Do you like to play with lego bricks? Can you imagine making art pieces with this child's play? Then you need to 'meet' Nathan Sawaya, who quits his job as a lawyer and becomes a Lego artist.
Deep down, I always admire people who have the guts to give up a stable high pay job to do what they enjoy and even better, make a career out of their hobby. Something that most people would have pointed fingers and called these 'brave people' insane. But I will definitely give them a 'thumb-up', hey you only live once!
Anyway, let's move on to see those art models that I like! For more displays, please go and visit while the exhibition is still on. ^_^
Together with the lightings, it does reflect the waves effect huh?
I really like that every details e.g. the wrinkles, the nostrils, the deep set eyes, are taken into consideration.
The picture looks 2D when you are directly in front of it, when it's really 3D if you view from the side. Cool huh?
We cant help but to pose the same as the blue model to take a picture. The chair besides it is simply too 'tempting'!
This model is called Everlasting, even though the models are rather not flattening. I mean look at the female's big buttock and the male's big tummy. But i guess the real meaning of everlasting is to be holding hands so long you live, despite the changing appearance.
You really got to see these pictures in person. I can clearly see the features of the portraits through my camera, but when I was standing in front of them, they dont make sense at all!
This is just 'wow'.
Interested to see more? Just visit the exhibition ($13 for Singaporean and $15 for non-Singaporean).
