Well, before I get really busy (gambling & eating) during the CNY period, I better get down to "work" and try to blog sth... And not to forget, my exam is next week!! Dumb of me right? I actually choose a date when everyone is happy celebrating..... But that's so me, as the Chinese sayings goes, I will just not doing anything, till the fire burns my backside... and it's really burning now... Did you smell Ba Gua?? =p

Anyway, let's just keep this entry short and sweet... so that

  • those who havent finish their spring cleaning, go clean now!
  • those who havent finish shopping for new clothes, go buy now!
  • those who havent finish buying CNY goodies, go buy now!

Hurry, 4 more days to go!!

(P.S. I sound like some sale shop huh? )

This was a dessert shop recommended by my friend, not too hard to find if you drive. And if you dun, just hop onto SBS Bus 123 at orchard road and alight at UE square, it somewhere nears Double O, so not really that inaccessible lah..

The cafe is not big, but it offers both air-con & alfresco dining. The big sofa seating areas outside the cafe do cater for big group. You can sit under the starry sky, enjoy a cup of good chocolate... Relieve from stress can just be so easy... Remember, DESSERTS is just the opposite of STRESSED..

Btw they sell chocolate pieces & can pack nicely, great for gifts! I forgot the price, but judging from the pictures above, needless to say, they are not cheap lor...

But again, I wont mind receiving gifts of pretty chocolates... *hint hint*

Down to business, so what exactly they have??

Chocolate Cakes and Chocolate Drinks!!
( beside the normal tea, coffee, cheesecakes, ice-cream etc)

I tried the hazelnut chocolate ($8), loving it! It was very aromatic, if you adores hazelnut. I still remember it was quite late after work that I went to the cafe, and the warm hazelnut chocolate did help to perk me up.

My bf ordered the Irish coffee ( $9), which contained some alcohol. It was quite potent even though it appeared harmless. But the alcoholic taste became too overwhelming after some time, and so he did not finish the drink.

My conclusion: Stick to chocolate drinks lah! The safest drink of the universe! Who can resist chocolate anyway??

Chocolate Cake ( $6.80)

Ice-cream ( $7.50 for 2 scoops)

I wanted to try the souffle , which seemed to be their most popular items. But alas, we were too late ( ard 10pm +) and the order for it closed, as it would take roughly 15 - 20 mins preparation time.

I promise myself I'm going back there for their SOUFFLE, which looked so appealing. MmmMM.. BIG and FLUFFY!!! But hor, it's human behavioral to sought for things that they cant get hold... So not my business, if you go and try after reading my entry and feel that it's not good enuff for you! =p

So I just ended up eating a chocolate cake and ice-cream lor.. The chocolate cake was really thick & yummy. The chef damn generous to throw in so much chocolate lah.. HAHAHA... But hor, it was so "heaty" that I fall sick the next day... -___-

Hi Ashley,

Happy New Year to you...

I chanced upon your blog on HGW and I am impressed your photos taken @ Laurent.

How did you manage to take the pictures in the chocolate room? They looked sharp and some are even close-ups.

Hi Fen,

Happy New Year too!! ^_^

The "chocolate room" is opened to all , so that you can choose the chocolate that you like to buy.

I'm just using a normal digital camera. For close-up pictures, use the macro ( the flower symbol)function, and with stable hands, you should be able to capture similar pictures!

Haha, I went there a couple of days but was comtemplating to go inside the room to snap some pictures... Although they allow me to take some pictures but I hold some reservations entering the room with the camera since I have no intention to grab any of the chocolates, just too expensive...

Nice pictures... Looking forward to more of your posts...

Hee.. thanks!

Anyway, an advice to become a good blogger....

THICK SKIN! Just snap anything & everything ( include pepper/salt bottle, utensils etc) with your camera, like nobody business! =p
