Johor Bahru Trip
September is definitely an exciting month for me - Lots of makan sessions and trips! To kick off, I went Johor Bahru for a 2D1N weekend getaway.
You must be thinking, how can JB be exciting?
You are so VERY WRONG! It depends on the activities and of coz your accompany! I must say, I went with a group of fun pax, and the whole trip was so memorable! Haha

First of all, we went to have lunch at Gim Gary Resturant ( there's a outlet at Vivo), which was damn cheap as there was bdae discount for members. Simply spend RM15 to sign up as member and get 50% discount off your bill if your bdae falls 7 days before or after the date of dine-in. But too bad lah, the same card cannot be used in Singapore... keke
Then, we went to watch the movie " Final Destination". Movie ticket was around RM10 or 11? So damn cheap! But again, the show was kinda lame, just a gruesome show with no story plot. Heck care lah, since ticket is cheap...
After the movie, we went to scout around for Wii games & gadgets at InnerCity (Inside City Square).
Well kinda side tracked, but.... Going City Square is SO MUCH convenient now! Just take a bus from woodlands interchange via 950, and the bus will get u there in no time ( prob an hour plus). The new custom is bigger and has a overhead bridge leading right to City Square. WooHoo!!
Ok back to Inner City, we walked around asking for best rates for Wii accessories. Then we went to take a group Neoprint! Keke, so fun! ^_^ A bunch of old people taking Neoprint was funny, since we were having a "hard time" trying to figure out all the functions...
Then, we proceeded to check into the hotel where we were picked up by driver uncles who were supposed to drive us to eat seafood. My fren happened to know this uncle who drives freelance, so we asked him & his fren to drive us to the seafood village. The place is super inconvenient if you dun drive. No choice lah, we had to "bao" cars to reach that place, which costed us around RM80+ for 2 hours ( include journey to and back, and waiting time).
This is the seafood RESTORAN ( that's how the locals spell leh), called TKK. Not tan ku ku okie!
Scenaries around the place...
Our orders:
La La aka cockles
Butter Cream Prawns
Black Pepper Crab
Crab with Century Egg
All these, including drinks & rice for just $120, which fed 7 pax. Each person just needed to pay a mere S$17.

Steamed Fish in Cantonese Style

Most importantly, it was not just cheap, it was DAMN GOOD! Oops.. Mind my language, but I really need to emphasize this. Keke
The crabs were meaty, unlike those that we usually have in Singapore. And if you want meaty crabs in Singapore, you probably need to burn a hole in your pocket as well. They were also fresh, so the meat could be "pulled out" effortlessly.. I used to dislike eating crabs, coz the amount of intake is usually insufficient to make up for the effort to eat them. But here, you dun need much effort to eat the crabs! Dun even need to use the "instrument" to extract the meat... Yes, it was that easy!
The prawns were also big & sweet. The cockles were nice and the fish was fresh. No words can fully describe, but everything were wiped out in no time. So I guess that was the most geniune feedback of the food ratings.

You thought that was the end of the day right???
You are so WRONG AGAIN!!
We went for Kdinner after the seafood dinner! Hehe.
Dun be mistaken hor, not that the seafood dinner was not filling. But hor, the ktv came with dinner buffet so bo pian lah. The KTV costed around RM40++ per pax for 3 hours including dinner. You can just search Neway Johor Bahru if you need more information about the timing and rates. And again, because my bdae falls in this month, it was free for me! But being a nice person, we split the cost of coz... :D
That was the last program of the day liao. Day 2 was basically relax shopping, but we managed to get some good deals for Wii gadgets... Happie happie!
**********
I'll definitely be back - for more seafood and more KTV!
