Claypot Fun [Closed]
This was recommended in one of the chinese TV food show quite sometime ago. Well, I'm never a claypot fan ( probably because I never have a chance to taste one fantastic one) , so there isnt any motivation to drive all the way to ECP just for it. Then again, I always keep it in mind in case I run out of idea of where to dine...Keke
So after a long long time, I finally made a visit to Claypot Fun.
The minute I walked in, it was as if I was transported back to the past, in the 60s, 70s... The place is really retro, ranging from the wall pictures, furniture and the utensils used. Kinda cool hor?

Before looking at the food, how about a "tour" around the resturant?

See those food containers and table fan? I'm sure they look familiar to our parents and grandparents..
And those green and yellow wall tiles, together with the cushion seatback, damn retro!
Lantern up up hang.. 灯笼高高挂。。Keke
Old traditional spoon...
And matching bowl ~ The 'famous' cock bowl.. used by our grandparents and probably parents in the olden days..
More pictures....

Okay, let's get back to "business"...How about the food?
Is this place able to change my opinion of clayfood rice?
The watercress soup was the typical home-made soup, although slightly oily. Btw, the portion was for 1 person, dun be misled by my photo as I merely did a close-up. Nothing special I guess..
Mixture of Chicken & Sausage Claypot
We ordered 1 big claypot rice for sharing among 3 adult and 1 kid. There is this option to have a mixture claypot ( 2 in 1 pot) rice with a top up. Good for those who wanna try the different varieties.
A close up of the "topping"
Chinese sausage, chicken and mushroom basically..
My Serving
Look kind of pathetic hor? I can imagine myself as a trishaw man squatting by the roadside, having a bowl of claypot rice after a day of hardwork... Keke
Food wise, I dun find it fantastic. In fact, over-rated with a higher price. Each claypot rice is priced at $10+ or more, which we can probably get the same standard kind of claypot rice at hawker centre with lower cost.
The rice was not exactly fragrant, and the topping was considered little for that portion of rice. I'm not someone who dun take oily food, but it was oily without the fragrance.. so having a small bowl was enough..
