Day 5

Last day of our Taipei trip and we got to leave for the airport at 5pm. Relatively short day and no driver ~ got to take public transport lor. >.<

Fortunately, public transport in Taipei is good. Most of the places are easily accessible via the MRT and frequency is high.

First stop -> Taipei 101 for some souvenir shopping

Nearest station: Taipei City Hall Station (Exit 2)

Although there are buses to Taipei 101, it is really not necessary. Definitely walking distance, I mean since our parents in their 50s - 60s can walk to Taipei 101, I dun see why there's a need.

Dunno the direction? Hey, stop looking for money on the ground! Look up! You can see the building from the station and just walk towards it lah.

Taipei 101

Erm, we were here for shopping but we cant resist food when we saw it. 三辰肉!

The braised pork was really soft, including the skin. Nice small treat! Hee

Next, lunch at my 2nd anticipated restaurant (Hello Kitty Sweets is of coz the first one)!

The restaurant is located at Taipei Medical University, which is beside the Taipei Medical Hospital. We took a cab from Taipei 101 to the restaurant as we were running late for our reservation (yes, please book!). I cant remember the fare, but not expensive as it's not far.

Apparently, there's free shuttle bus to Taipei Medical Hospital outside Taipei 101 ( scroll down to see how the free shuttle bus looks like) which we took on the way back.

Btw, when we asked the restaurant staff whether there's a shuttle bus to bring us back to Taipei 101, he directed us to take the public bus instead. Heng, I was alert enuff to notice the free shuttle bus when we cut across from the hospital to the university. ^_^

周杰伦!!

The piano that can bring you back to the past....

=p

To save the fuss, we ordered set meal again ~ consists of soup, salad, main course plus a dessert. The set meal ranges about NT300+, which is less than S$20! So cheap!

Seafood Rice

Pasta with chicken

More pasta

Portion was ridiculously huge. If you are big eater, you will love here!

I reckon because it's located in university and most of the diners are youngsters with super high metabolism rate, so that's why food are mostly carbon & super huge serving.  For "aging" people like myself, cannot tahan... =p

Dessert

金马奖喔!

And that was the bus that brought us back to Taipei 101 ~> FREEEEE! Look out for it!

After lunch, we proceeded to 五分埔  where we shopped for 2 hours before rushing back to hotel. Time is too short! If you are a shopaholic, please be smarter than me and allocate at least half a day. Well, at least not on a day when you need to catch the plane!

See my loots here!

Erm, we managed to reach the hotel 20mins earlier before the transfer airport pick up time at 5pm, so guess what? We went to eat AGAIN.

Trust me, this was totally not my idea. It was my dad's suggestion coz we hadnt tried fish balls soup in Taipei. I guess the tendency to eat a lot could be genetic? Hmmm...

It took about 30-40mins to reach the airport. After checking in, we ate again. *Bashful*

There's only a food court similar cafe after we crossed the customs. Hmm, there could be more last time, but the airport was undergoing some renovation so perhaps that's why not much a choice.

Good thing is, food in the food court were pretty decent and surprisingly cheap (approx S$10+) for airport food.

The whole trip was so "sinful"! We ate like nobody business and finally we were back home. And yup, I should start dieting for my wedding... =p
