Hongdae/Sinchon/Ehwa
A youngster area where you can find cats/dogs cafes, Hongik University, Trick Eye Museum, Hello Kitty cafe and of coz, shopping!

This time round, we decided to visit Trick Eye Museum + Ice Gallery (in the same building). There's a 20% discount coupon from Korea Tourism Organisation. Click here to print the coupon vouchers;  there are also discount coupons for Wifi Router, Alive Musuem etc, so dont forget to check it out! =)

Trick Eye Musuem + Ice Gallery
357-1, Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul Seogyo Plaza Basement 2
서울특별시 마포구 홍익로3길 20 (서교동)
Subway: Hongik Univ Station, Exit 9
Ticket: 12000 Won (after discount)
It is located very near to the Hello Kitty Cafe; look out for the signboard for Trick Eye on the building but the entrance is actually at the basement.

My 'sula' hubby pretending to be cold, or maybe he was really freezing coz he was wearing bermudas. lol
I dont have pointed backside hor, it was just my backpack underneath my coat.  I only wore the coat on the first day in Seoul for the Ice Gallery. It was too thick for the weather lah, wasted my luggage space.... *roll eyes*
Love Museum is located just one level up at basement 1. We didnt enter though.. #cheapthrill #freetotakepicture
Next, we went in search for Softree as I wanted to go try the honeycomb icecream and it was supposed to be just walking distance from Trick Eye Museum. The address I googled was 367-38 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea and at the lower part of the shop "Around The Corner". Apparently, no more liao. In case, you are planning to go, skip this!
We settled for this tall icecream at 2000 won along the walk back to Hongdae/Hongik Univ Station.

Hongdae, Sinchon and Ehwa are just 1 station apart from each other, so it's actually walking distance. But I didnt want to waste time, so we took the train to Sinchon to have our lunch.

Palsaek Samgyeopsal (팔색삼겹살)
18, Baekbeom-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Subway: Sinchon Station, Exit 6
Direction:  Go straight along Baekbeom-ro for about 150m. You will see Palsaek Samgyeopsal (팔색삼겹살) across the street. Look out for KIA Motors Building (easier to spot) and Palsaik is located at the bottom right
This restaurant is famous for its 8 flavoured bbq pork and I purposely included it in my itinerary so that we will have different varieties of meals which I was pretty proud of myself to plan so. Keke

Beside Sinchon location, I also saw another outlet at Dongdaemum, the food street behind Migliore, APM etc. Well, if you are not coming this area, I'm sure you will visit Dongdaemum for the shopping, so you probably want to consider having bbq pork? Hee
All above was 30,000 won for 2 pax. Not exactly cheap but that was a lot of food!

The eight flavours are Ginseng, Wine, Pine, Garlic, Herb, Curry, Soybean Paste & Hot Pepper. I preferred the first 4 flavours, esp Pine. Service was great; the food was served almost immediately and systematically; there was always staff to help to bbq and check the food. Apron given and free flow of water. Our first satisfying meal after having sucky food on Cathay flights. =)

Homilpat Patbingsu
Address: 4-77 Changcheon-dong, Seodaemun-gu

We walked from Sinchon to Homilpat Patbingsu, which is located in between Sinchon & Ehwa area. This was where we got lost coz there was many small alleys, so best I dont confuse you further with any wrong directions. Use GPS!

This was also where we got to walk up and down roads so steep that I suspected I will just roll down anytime and so clinged to my hubby for my dear life. You may think I was been super exaggerating; wait till you are there. Humpt. Oh well, maybe it is easier to find the place coming from Ewha station?

On a positive note, the snow ice shaving was really good, so fine that it literally melt in the mouth. Must try! We ordered the strawberry snow ice and the basic milk snow ice. Both came with a separate bowl of mashed red beans and mochi. Everything for 13,000 won, probably it's better to share 1 bowl between 2 pax lah. So many things to eat in Korea, must 'ration' the money mah. Hee

While you are in this area, consider to include:
- Hello Kitty Cafe
- Ycat Cafe
- Shimontang (food)

We went Myeondong for shopping and dinner, which I will save for another post. The day ended off with a Korean show, which was just a few stations away.

Seoul Jump Threatre
Kyung-hyang Art Hill 1F, 22, Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul
Subway: Seodaemun Station, Exit 5

We booked our tickets via Funko Funtastic Korea. Directions and prices can be found at the website.

This booking website is recommended by my airbnb host, which I find it very useful since booking can be done online using English. I tried to book my tickets online as much as possible as I'm using OCBC Frank Card ~ 6% cash rebate on online purchases, save money for shopping again! Heehee

Funko also offers day trips (e.g. Everland, Nami Island, Strawberry Picking) and what's more, prices are sometimes cheaper as compared to the official website (for Jump e.g.). BEST!

I find that Jump is quite okay, although I will recommend other show such as Nanta Cooking Show first. My favourite is still Breakout, which no longer showing. I'm actually a huge fan of Korean show and will catch them when they are here at Singapore. Hope they come up with more shows for my next visit in Korea! =)
