We were back at Saveur, our favourite resturant for a sumptuous Xmas dinner! Loved the Xmas decor that "welcomed" us at the entrance. The reindeer was so adorable!

For those who are new to Saveur, the restaurant does not allow reservation on normal days. Thankfully, it allowed reservation for Xmas and Xmas eve, saved us from the long queue and of coz we signed up for it! The not so ideal part was, there was only 2 timing ~ 530pm to 7pm and then 7pm to 930pm (1.5 hr each). And if you were like me who went for the first slot, you got to eat fast and mind you, the serving was not that fast.

Ok, let's see the menu!

We took a 4 course and a 6 course to enjoy a variety of 10 course dinner. Smart right? Keke

Complimentary bread roll

It was served warm with butter, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Throughout the course, the staff also offered additional serving. I guess it was the first time that Saveur was doing this set dinner thingy, and frankly, the serving was a tad small.  They actually went round the tables to ask for feedback.

Consomme

The soup was pretty light and good to warm the stomach before the feast. Dun really liked the crab tortellini, which was too peppery. And yup, that was the "tiger prawn", probably a baby one... LOL

Mushroom Risotto

Oooo.. I loved this. Creamy and yummy.

Canadian Scallop

2 scallop on the plate, just nice for sharing!  Nicely grilled and succulent.

Salmon Duo

Salmon in 2 presentations. The first one - salmon confit was just pale, lack the sweetness of a real salmon sashimi. On the other hand,  the smoked salmon was more flavourful.

Monk Fish Tail

First time eating monk fish tail and surprisingly, the texture was really good. It was firm and goes well with the crispy bacon around it.

Pork Belly

This was a tad too oily for my liking. But i guess, no harm to "indulge" myself a little bit since it was Xmas!

Tasting of Quail

Almost too cute to eat, I mean.. look at that drumstick, so kawaii! It looked like duck confit but a much smaller version. Taste wise, pretty normal. I will still go for Saveur's famous duck confit anytime.

Veal Loin

The veal had the texture like beef and I was almost fooled by it if I had not know the menu beforehand.

Pre Dessert

A very refreshing pre-dessert to clear our palate for the real dessert. Though it was stated that this was lime yogurt, but it tasted really like lime ice-cream, a creamy one.

Chocolate Parfeit

A chocolate ice-cream to end the Xmas dinner with a sweet note! But hor, the mango was too sour lah, so didnt finish it.
