HK Shopping
First shopping stop -> Prada Outlet and Horizon Plaza ( located in the same estate )
Direction: Take MTR to Central Station and take Exit A. Proceed to the bus interchange ( Exchange Square) by taking the overhead bridge to cross the road. From there, take bus number 590 to the bus terminal at Ap Lei Chau (last stop). The fare is HK$6.90.
Since it is basically first stop to last stop, there will be no mistake of alighting at the wrong stop. Easy rite? The ride was about 20 - 30minutes when I went there at about 10am, but the journey back to Central took about an hour because of traffic jam in the noon.
The bus will pass by the Prada outlet, which is beside the Marina Square East Centre (picture above) before turning into the bus terminal. Try to spot for it so that you will know how to walk to there from the bus terminal.
Opening hours: Mon - Sat, 1030am - 730pm ; Sun & PH: 12 - 7pm
It's stated here on the directory that the Prada Outlet is called Space on 2nd floor, but actually the main entrance is at ground floor, which leads to a escalator to the outlet. The outlet has both Prada and Mui Mui, ranging from shoes to bags to clothing.
I went there, spent about 15-20mins, but didnt get anything. Still too expensive for me! Sigh! It's a must to check out for Prada & Mui Mui lovers!
Here is a little map of the place, showing the location of the bus interchange, the Marina Square East Centre (i.e East Commercial Block), as well as the waiting point for the shuttle bus to Horizon Plaza, our next shopping stop.
There is no bus stop for the free shuttle bus, but the waiting point is located at the P sign between block 17 & 18. It's a white mini van, which will show the location (i.e. South Horizon or Horizon Plaza)on the exterior of the van. Again, you have to look out for it.
I dint take the shuttle bus to the Horizon Plaza as we thought that it was a waste of time (frequency of the shuttle bus is about 20mins). Instead, we took a 5 minute cab there which cost about HK$18.
Personally, I dun find Horizon Plaza a shopping paradise, cant find anything there. It's mainly make up of furniture shops so even though it's suppose to be a 27 storey high shopping place, the fashion is kinda limited? For your ease, I listed down the fashion shops here:
- Aldo
- Amazing Inspiration Workshop
- Armani Outlet
- A.U.N Fashion
- Bluebell Fashion Warehouse
- Club Monaco Warehouse
- Diesel Outlet
- Fairton Labels Fashion Warehouse
- Folli Follie
- IMAGINEX Outlet
- I.T Outlet
- Joyce Boutique Warehouse
- Juicy Couture Warehouse
- Lane Crawford Warehouse
- Marijuana Fashion Warehouse
- MARNI
- Max Mara Fashion Group Warehouse
- Moiselle Warehouse
- Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Warehouse
- Pompei Warehouse
- Replay
Those in bold are the better ones, I think. Overall, still not really my kind of fashion, but if you are a fan of the above brands, perhaps it's then worth the trip. If not, you probably want to reconsider going there lor.
The shuttle bus back to the pickup point is more "tricky". From the entrance of the building, turn right and walk straight until you see the carpark exit driveway on your right. It's polly a 5min or less walk? If you are taking more than 5 mins, which we did, most likely you have missed the carpark exit. Turn around and ask someone for the directions instead.
Second shopping stop -> Granville Road
This is a place with many little shops, selling youngster fashion, shoes and accessories. Quite an interesting place to shop. Stuff are of reasonable pricing, like perhaps S$20+ per piece. Shops were still opened at 9plus when we were there, so if you are thinking of late night shopping, this is not a bad place.
Direction: Take MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui station and take Exit B2. Click here for the map.
Third shopping stop -> HK Industrial Centre
This is the best place to shop so far, including my previous trips to HK! Reminds me of Platinum Mall in Bangkok ~ I LOVE wholesale market! Hehe
Lots of wholesale stuff, although there are shop owners who strictly dun do retail, but still there is sufficient shops for us to buy our loot. Point to note: Strictly cash and no trying. Bring a measurement tape if you are unsure of your size bah. Plus point: It's air-conditioned! =p
Opening hours: 11am - 7pm
Direction: Take MTR to Lai Chi Kok station and take Exit C. Click here for the map.
Of coz, if you have more time, you may want to visit those flea market streets such as the following:
- Fa Yuen Street -> Prince Edward MTR (Exit B2)
- Ladies Market -> Mong Kok MTR (Exit E2)
- Temple Street -> Jordan MTR (Exit A)
