I shall just sum up the last 2 days of my Taipei trip in a post. Probably some of you are already bored with this forever-eating thingy in Taipei. Just bear with me a tiny weeny more..... =p

I just recalled I have yet to finish posting my Taipei trip in May. Totally forgot about it until I was browsing my own website. The sad part about growing older.... your memory capacity seems to shrink. I used to 'memorize' my geography textbook while watching TV, and I could still get 'A' for the subject. Now, I have problem remember what I had for dinner yesterday. >.<
Our friends were flying back to Singapore on Day 5, so no more over-ordering of food already. We were just going for quality food at decent portion and lotza of shopping!

Hello! I'm back with my Taipei trip before I check in to Quincy Hotel later, so let's do a super chop chop post. =p
We planned to do some sight-seeing & hot spring trip at Wulai, but the weather was really bad, rained like nobody business. We still went for the indoor hot spring, grab lunch and just took a cab back to the city area.
Day 2 was shopping day!!
Thank goodness it was not raining heavily with just some drizzling in the afternoon. Just to play safe, we went to Wufenpu, which is mostly sheltered.
Wufenpu (五分埔) / 鬍鬚張魯肉飯 (Formosa Chang)
Location: 110 Taiwan Taipei City Sinyi District Yǒngjí Road 333號
Metro: Houshanpi - Exit 1
For those who have never came to Taipei before, do not miss Wufenpu! It's a wholesale market with lot of cheap and good stuff.
In the recent trip, I did realised that there are more shops selling clothes imported from Korea, which are more expensive (e.g. like $40 - $50 for a top), which I would rather buy in Singapore, Far East Plaza also have those shops mah, or best, fly to Korea to buy. Just for sharing, sometimes these shops will have a rack outside the shop selling defect items which may be a good buy, so do look out for those! Alternatively, buy those clothes that are imitation of the Korean designs, which are also nice. just that the quality may not be as good as those direct Korean imported.
Lunch was quickly settled at 鬍鬚張魯肉飯 / Formosa Chang, which I have long heard about ravings about it. Can you imagine that I have never tried it even though this trip was my 5th time in Taiwan?
I spent about 7 days in Taipei alone to just eat and shop, oh well technically 6 days since I flew back to Singapore on the 7th day. You must be thinking I should have a very relaxing trip.... but NONONO... my itinerary is still packed with places I wanna go makan and shopping... Still quite "tedious" lor...
Just sharing some of the places that we makan, will be doing a more detailed posts when I'm more free. This month is a busy month for my new launch, weddings, Father's day and.... my wedding anniversary! =p
These are just the non-night markets food that we tried. Talking about night market, I proclaimed now that Nixia Night Market is my favourite in Taipei, followed by Shilin, Shida and last one will be Raohe. Ok, please start drooling from now on.... keke
现在在猫空览车山上等览车下山。 不知道为什么览车不能动了。好无料 。就让我po一些照片吧!

I'm going for another press invite/ food review, ah whatever, in mid April. Yeah, more FREE food to come! But really, it's the privilege of being selected to attend the event rather than the food itself that excites me!
More chance to meet other bloggers/food reviewers! It's fun to eat with other bloggers/food reviewers as it's such a norm to snap at the food and position the dishes in 101 ways just to make sure the pictures turn out appetizing! And it's quite cool when the owner/chef chit chat & share their story with you. Something you probably cant experience if you are just there as a normal patrons. =)
Ok, the real excitement now.....
I'm going to Taipei in a month time!
Yeah, its a last minute decision to tag along with hubby's business trip. If nothing goes wrong (cross fingers), I will monitor the price and book my ticket to Taipei in a few days time.
Updates: Ticket booked! SQ Flight at a discounted rate of $584.10 (tax inclusive) + $36 (travel insurance, optional)
It's a steal, I must say! The last time I travelled to Taipei using budget airline and I paid almost the same rate. This time got meal on plane somemore. Did I mention that I kinda like plane meal (飞机餐)? ^_^
Look out for my Taipei EAT (80%) & SHOP (20%) itinerary!
People, I really need comments on where to go eat/do in Taipei!!
Since this is not my first trip there, I will skip the typical tourist spots like Yang Ming Shan, Taipei 101. But else can I do ar? Any activities to do in Taipei?
As hubby will be going Taichung for 2 days, I will be spending 2 days on my own. It's kinda exciting to travel alone!
I've never travel myself, I mean I took planes on my own before but not really tour a country on my own. Coincidentally, I have another friend so happen going to stopover Taipei during those days (lucky or what?), so I will arrange to meet up to go shopping and meals together.
This time round, I will go to Ni Xie Night Market (
宁夏夜市) and spend like a day at Wu Fen Pu! Coz my last trip to
Taipei was like mad rush! Haha
Feeling so blissful & lucky now!

Day 5
Last day of our Taipei trip and we got to leave for the airport at 5pm. Relatively short day and no driver ~ got to take public transport lor. >.<
Fortunately, public transport in Taipei is good. Most of the places are easily accessible via the MRT and frequency is high.
First stop -> Taipei 101 for some souvenir shopping
Nearest station: Taipei City Hall Station (Exit 2)
Although there are buses to Taipei 101, it is really not necessary. Definitely walking distance, I mean since our parents in their 50s - 60s can walk to Taipei 101, I dun see why there's a need.
Dunno the direction? Hey, stop looking for money on the ground! Look up! You can see the building from the station and just walk towards it lah.
Finally, a full day of food and sightseeing! Yeah, no more wedding photoshoot stuff, and we can truly enjoy our stay in Taipei!
Well, because we wanted to eat breakfast, so the day started off at 830am. Yawnzzz.... The saying, early bird gets to eat the worm... I'm never so "hardworking" when it comes to breakfast in Singapore lor... =p
阜杭豆漿 Fu-Hang Dou Jiang
台北市中正區忠孝東路一段108號2樓之28(華山市場二樓) 2F, Huashan Market Building
Nearest MRT: Shandao Temple Station (Exit 5)
Opening hour: 05:30~11:00
This is supposed to be a old shop with over 50yrs history. Must be good lah!
Day 3
Finally we had free time in the morning to do some sight seeing with our parents. But before that, our nice driver brought us to this old traditional shop for breakfast.
Day 2
It was a full day wedding shoot for us. By the time we finished, it was almost 8pm. Parents came to pick us up from the bridal shop to go 忍者主題餐廳.
忍者主題餐廳 (Ninja Jap Resturant)
No. 129號, Section 4, Shìmín Boulevard, Songshan District Taipei City, Taiwan 105
Open from 1130am - 2pm ; 6:00pm to 2:30am
Nearest Mrt: Zhongxiao Dunhua Station (Exit 8)
I was at Taipei for 5 days last week for my wedding shoot, so not much of touring the place except for the last 2-3 days. But hor, we went to many places to eat! Taiwan is really a food paradise! ^_^
My initial plan of places to makan:
1) ZHANG JI GUO TIE NIU ROU MIEN- Not found
2) 于記杏仁豆腐 - Checked!
3) Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) - Checked!
4) 忍者主題餐廳 (Ninja Jap Resturant) - owns/endorses by Makiyo (Taiwanese celebrity) - Checked!
5) Hello Kitty Sweets - Checked!
6) Shida Night Market - No time
7) Gongguan Night Market - No time
8) 阜杭豆漿 Fu-Hang Dou Jiang - Checked!
9) Jiufen - Checked!
10) 基隆廟口夜市 - Checked!
11) 阿宗麵線 - Checked!
12) Mr.J義法廚房II - Secret Theme - owns by Jay Zhou (Taiwanese celebrity) - Checked!
I took pride that we had managed to clear most of my list! And we definitely ate more than that, which I think most ppl will probably feel disgusted. Aiya, the advantage of going trips with DAD ( 2 some more) ~ you can order all you want, and they will finish all the food! LOL
Let's start the food journey!
I'm back from my Taiwan - Taipei trip! ^_^
Just reached home at about 3am this morning, super tired! I think I was a bit too "ambitious" to pack my wedding shoot, tour and makan in a 5 day trip. But overall, it was a fun trip and I managed to do most of the items I had planned, will blog in detail soon! Keke
Presenting my loots from Wufenpu (五分埔 ) - wholesale market in Taipei! Erm, most of it from there lah...
Well, this is a creative building made of driftwood and oyster shells designed by artist Li-Shian Hsieh. Every corner is a piece of art. From outside, it just looks like another piece of art. Who would have guess art and delicancies can blend together so well?
The exterior
Pianist at the basement playing beautiful tunes. It makes dining so artistic!

Sculptures at the entrance
Food I cant comment much, as I was with my tour group. But basically they served chinese food. Most importantly, we were all happily fed...keke

Our lunch

Steamed fish for everyone.. No need to snatch!

Milky Mochi
The texture is superb Q! With a sweet milky taste. I liked it so much that I even bought a box of 6 @NT 100. Must try!
Wanna read more about the resturant?
Read Here! *********
FIVE CENT DRIFTWOOD HOUSE
8, Lane 32, NeiHu Road,
Sec. 1, Taipei; (02) 8501-1472
Hours:Lunch 11 am-2 pm
Dinner 5-9 pm
As the name suggests, this is a TOILET-INSPIRED resturant. The settings and fixtures are all toilet bowls, bath tubs, shower heads etc. Even the food are served in toilet bowls, urinates and shits!! It is "disgustingly" amazing!! Aha...Before your mind starts to wonder off to those ECP toilets ( coz I find the toilets there superb dirty!!!! Yucks!!), take a look at the photos below:
Wondering what awaits us.... 怕怕
Clean toilets! Seats made of toilet bowls and tables made of basins.
More bowls
More bowls, basins and even shower heads?
Now you know they are just furnitures. So ready for the food?

Our bubble teas served in urinates.

Piping hot chicken chop served with soup and side dish. Huh, where is the side dish?? There, on the right... Alamak, still cant see? Look at a closer picture then....

Side dish served in SHIT bowl...wahahhahahah...
Baked seafood rice steaming in bath tub

Calamari, chicken pop and fries oso wanna steamed inside bath tub =p

Remind you of anything?

A big bowl of SXXX...erm.. I mean ice-cream!
The Taiwanese are just too generous! They threw all sorts of things like grass jellies, cereals, rasins ....

All these for merely NT690 (i.e S$32)! Good deal, right???
